All across America, companies are embracing methods of doing business that use fewer natural resources and have less environmental impact. Consumers are demanding it, and it’s simply good business practice.
At Paramount, we are committed to:
When you choose Paramount, you know you are doing business with a partner who takes environmental responsibility seriously, and who provides you with opportunities to demonstrate your own green commitment.
We also feature papers that display the Green-e logo, the nationally recognized symbol for products manufactured using certified renewable energy, such as wind energy, and Chlorine Free Certified Products that are considered less harmful to the environment due to reduced use of chlorine and chlorine compounds in the manufacturing process, as determined by the Chlorine Free Products Association (CFPA).
We also feature Green Seal Certified and Carbon Neutral papers. Green Seal Certified uncoated printing and writing paper must contain at least 30% post-consumer materials, or be manufactured without using chlorine or chlorine derivates. The Carbon Neutral trademark has become the leading brand mark for voluntary action on climate change.
As an early advocate of green technologies, Paramount has long been committed to reducing waste and chemical usage. We use direct-to-plate technology for all offset printing, eliminating resource intensive intermediate steps, and direct-to-press digital printing eliminates film, plate making and the developing chemistry from the process. Furthermore, our efficient perfecting offset presses cut press time by 50 percent per job, saving a tremendous amount of energy.
We further reduce the impact of harmful chemicals on the environment by using vegetable-oil-based inks, and we employ automated press clean up using minimal cleaning solutions. As part of the cleaning process, we have replaced traditional chemical solvents with alcohol substitutes.
